BA(Hons) Textile Design
Melanie is an experienced Retail Manager, being with the Glasgow Store since October 2015
BA Architecture, BA(Hons) Silversmithing and Jewellery
I have worked with BoConcept since 2014. After studying architecture and later silversmithing and jewellery I graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2017. I have since set up my own studio where I make contemporary pieces of silverware influenced by the built environment and Architecture. I have been awarded the Goldsmiths Company Silversmithing Award and have commissioned work for Cambridge University and was selected to design the medals for the European Indoor Athletics Championships.
For my work with BoConcept I have been involved in many large scale commercial projects as well as my own residential projects. For me our homes are our sanctuary and the furniture and objects we choose to have around us deeply impact on our happiness and wellbeing.
Having studied Design; Interiors and Fashion BA (Hons), I spent time in Madrid and Copenhagen. The experiences I draughted from these places of incredible architecture and design, demonstrates itself in my work on a day to day basis.
I take influence from my time in visual merchandising to specialise in styling of interiors too, the new accessory collection is ideal to provide the finishing touches of your space. I love to focus on the line and shape of individual pieces and how they affect the balance of a space in my work at BoConcept, Glasgow.
Prior to joining BoConcept I worked as a Property Stylist, designing and styling homes for clients and staging properties for sale. I love building relationships with my clients and helping them create a space that’s functional, yet aesthetically pleasing – a space that they love to come home to and reflects who they are. Our home should be our happy place!
If I’m not designing or styling homes, I’m drinking coffee and reading my favourite interiors magazine. I also love to travel and have been fortunate enough to see over 50 countries.
I have been with BoConcept for just over a year now after studying Interior Design and Architecture and graduating in 2018. Along my design path I have had the opportunity to work with several different design companies such as Keppie design and Graven images where I have been awarded for some of the projects I have done.
When working with my clients, for me, the focus is on creating a personalised space that encapsulates their needs and visions, with particular importance on the practicality and comfort of the space. I design to ensure that the space not only looks beautiful but also liveable and inviting.
BA(Hons) Interior & Spatial Design
I have been working within the Interior Design Industry since graduating in 2016 – with experience in both the residential and commercial sectors.
I’ve always loved the Scandinavian style; from it’s clean simple lines to the blend of textures and colours. Luckily, I can find this and more at BoConcept, which I love!
During my studies at The Glasgow School of Art, I focused on using Interior Design to improve people’s quality of life. I achieved this using high quality, sustainable and affordable design. Natural light plays a massive part in my designs. I love how it can change the feel of a room in addition to its multiple health and wellbeing benefits.
I believe everyone should have a functional home that reflects their style and personality. I love the fact that BoConcept offers a wide range of price points to suit different budgets.
Currently, I am loving neutral earthy tones and playing with different textures. I love the Lazio and Verona fabric and the dark oak and matt black finishes.
