As the seasons change, we find ourselves wanting to change our homes as well. Making even the smallest of changes can make a huge difference, and can be done quickly and effectively. Here are our top 5 styling tips to breathe new life into your space for Spring 2023.

1. FLORALS AND FOLIAGE

Seasonal foliage and flowers bring an instant brightness and warmth to a home. Either go with your existing colour scheme and tones to create a more subtle, calming look, or make a statement and find flora that contrasts to give a fresh vibe to your home. An alternative to fresh is silk flowers. You can explore our wide range of silk flowers that we have available exclusively in our stores.

2. SOFTER, LIGHTER TEXTILES

As the weather warms up, the days are longer and the sun is higher in the sky, we feel the heaviness of the January blues lift away and our thick blankets are put back in the cupboard. Using lighter textiles such as linen, cotton and voile around the home will create a sense of airiness and lightness that is synonymous with springtime, especially when used in the right places. For areas where light passes or bounces - such as windows or reflective surfaces – consider transparent or very light fabrics to diffuse rather than block light passing through your home. Discover our range of textiles here, for our full collection visit us in-store.

3. CONTRASTING TEXTURES

For those of you that want a fresher, bolder feeling in your home but don’t like the idea of too many colours, the contrasting texture technique is an excellent alternative. Taking inspiration from the natural elements in your texture choices is another way to bring the outdoors in and has become very popular in the past few seasons. In accessories, you can juxtapose a smooth surface such as glass or metal with more unrefined surfaces such as rough stone or unfinished ceramic. The same can be done with fabrics. Opt for a differing cushion texture to your sofa – two or more differing cushions work even better. You can explore our range of accessories here or pop in-store to try this yourself.

4. POPS OF COLOUR

Although the neutral trend is still going strong, as we mentioned in our predictions for this year pops of colour seem to be coming back into the zeitgeist of the style trend world. You can do this subtly through accessories. Our advice would be if you’re a little tentative, to go back to our flower tip and add a pop through your foliage. This allows you to play with many colours and see which fits your style and taste. Once you have picked your choice of colours, you can continue to sprinkle the colour into your space to add a drop of freshness and excitement for the spring months.

5. DECLUTTER AND TIDY

The most simple, cost-effective and mindful way of refreshing your space is giving it the classic ‘spring clean.’ The ‘tidy house, tidy mind’ mantra may be a cliché at this point, but nothing can compare to the serenity of a space that is organised and clean. Of course, everyone has different ideas of what clean and tidy is, so we suggest you do what makes you happy, not what you think everyone expects. Give it a go the next time you have some free time, and see if it makes a difference to your home and mind.
